Today’s Scripture
“A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” John 13:34–35 (KJV)
Jesus gives His disciples a new commandment on the night before the cross: love one another as I have loved you. The standard is not the love we find easy, but the love Jesus showed — washing feet, forgiving failures, laying down His life. And He says this love will be how the world recognises His followers. Not our arguments, not our buildings, not our cleverness, but our love for one another. In a divided world, a fellowship of people from different backgrounds and traditions who genuinely love each other is a powerful witness.
